Apparently tumblr doesn’t like accents in it’s titles: smörgåsbord.
Oh! I got so excited about finishing a pillow that I almost forgot this excitement. My boyfriend discovered a Scandinavian shop here in town, and took me there yesterday. I’m amazed how much control I maintained over myself. Though if they hadn’t had free samples of Finnish chocolate and Swedish almond cake… I probably would have bought a lot more sweets. Like a princess tårta (go here for photo and recipe), that I always got for my birthday. Lucky for me I have a summer birthday, and we always ended up taking our summer trips then. So I would get a bowl of fresh picked wild blueberries in milk for breakfast, and then princess tårta as my birthday cake. Raspberry jam, marzipan, cream… yum. I did get myself Swedish muesli, somehow I just haven’t found anything as good here. Ate this every morning the year I lived there. And gooseberry jam… I love gooseberries. Even better would have been a tart gooseberry pie….
